At the end of February, the management teams of Lund University’s Faculty of Engineering (LTH) and the Faculty of Science gathered to gain a deeper insight into the establishment work in Science Village.
Starting at MAX IV, with a lovely view of Science Village, the group was welcomed by Olof Karis, Director of MAX IV, and Marjolein Thunnissen, Division Director of MAX IV. Annika Mårtensson, chair of the faculty-based steering group for Stage 2 and Vice-Chancellor for campus development at LTH, opened the meeting by providing an overview of how the establishment work is organized. Following this, participants gained further insights through presentations by project leader Knut Deppert, who leads Stage 2, and Charlotte von Brömssen, project manager from LU Estates, as well as project leader for Stage 1 Anneli Löfgren, who spoke about the establishment of Nanolab Science Village in the area.
The tour of Science Village was led by CEO Christian Lindfors and Communications Manager Ludvig Duregård from Science Village Scandinavia AB, who guided the participants through the area and provided a firsthand experience of its development.
The meeting aimed to initiate discussions with the management teams regarding the faculties’ visions for Science Village and its ongoing establishment. It was also an opportunity to provide the newly appointed leaders, who assumed their positions at the turn of the year, with a thorough insight into the ongoing work and the visions shaping the future of the area.
Also present at the meeting were the heads of the Department of Physics, the Department of Chemistry, as well as team members working on Stage 2 Science Village establishment.
